Twitch Streamer Asmongold Expresses Frustration with Starfield
Twitch streamer Asmongold recently proclaimed his dissatisfaction with the gaming experience provided by Bethesda's latest RPG, Starfield, that hinders him from relishing the gameplay. While the broader gaming community has displayed a generous heap of positivity towards Starfield, it isn't without its issues. The game's perceived repetitive nature is the main factor stalling Asmongold's desire to stream the game.
The Mixed Reaction to Starfield's Features
Starfield has received widespread praise for several features, including the attention to detail in ship customization and an engaging lockpicking mini-game. Though popular amongst many, Asmongold has given a lukewarm review of the game after several hours of gameplay, stating that one issue dampens his enjoyment significantly.
Asmongold's Distaste for Planet Exploration
Asmongold has voiced his distaste for the game's planet exploration aspect, calling it 'boring'. He addressed an argument made about players' limited exploration capacity due to invisible walls. According to Asmongold, the true problem lies in the scarcity of points of interest within each world. He speaks about his lack of incentive to interact with the game's world even though players can't freely navigate each planet.
Asmongold's Criticisms
In a recent stream, Asmongold expressed, 'The real problem is that the world you zone into has five points of interest and that's it. It's the exact thing. I went through that cave three times, I felt like I was playing classic WoW again.
Determinedly, he continued, 'So, the problem really is not that you can't explore the entire planet, the problem is you're a fool if you want to, that's the problem. It's because there's no reason to go around and explore in Starfield. It's all the same.'
Asmongold has grown weary of the repetitive gameplay, even with the narrative elements and attention to detail that have generally been well-received. He criticises the game for the uniformity across various planets, claiming that each one was identical in terms of monsters, areas, loot, combat, and gameplay.
Criticisms of Starfield's Map
The streamer further criticises Starfield's map, which has also garnered criticism from numerous gaming enthusiasts. Asmongold mockingly stated that the game must have been designed by the game's AI soldiers and pirates due to its nonsensical layout. Additionally, the lack of overall information and the absence of Points Of Interest (POI) markers without a quest selected have only added to the frustration for the players.
Asmongold's Hope for Future Gameplay
Despite his scathing review, Asmongold reveals that he will still attempt to play the game offstream in hopes that his opinion changes, emphasizing his desire to enjoy the game despite its perceived shortcomings: 'I want to like the game, I really want to like the game, but it's hard.'
