Season 6 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone: The Finale
Season 6 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone is pitted to be the final season in its current form. This finale season is expected to be significant as it sets the gaming stage for the subsequent launch of Modern Warfare 3.
New maps and revamped gameplay
In the preceding Season 5, a number of new multiplayer maps were introduced to Modern Warfare 2, incorporating a remodelled version of Call of Duty 4’s Strike map. Warzone also underwent several changes to its movement speed that players had long been demanding since the transition from Caldera. These improvements significantly enhanced the games' gameplay experience.
New operators join the game
Furthermore, Season 5 saw the addition of new operators to the game, including popular figures in the hip hop industry such as Snoop Dogg, 21 Savage, and Nicki Minaj. This was done in the effort to celebrate 50 years of hip hop culture.
Expectations for Season 6
With the launch of Modern Warfare 3 only a few weeks away and attention gradually shifting to the new game, there arises a question: What can be expected from Modern Warfare 2 Season 6?
Season 6 start date
As per recent indications, Season 6 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone is set to commence on Wednesday, September 27. The updated servers are typically activated at around 9AM PT (12PM ET/5PM BST).
This date is based on the Battle Pass timer available in-game, which usually gives accurate information unless there are unforeseen delays. This aligns with the normal pattern for Call of Duty updates, which consistently roll out every two months on a Wednesday.
There is always a possibility of delays if the team is unprepared to launch all the new content games that comes with the game. However, given this stage in the game’s life cycle, it's likely that the update should go smoothly without significant, game-changing additions to the gaming elements.
