Yuumi Players Bemused by League of Legends AFK System Update

A recent update to the AFK system in League of Legends has left Yuumi players perplexed as they lose LP simply for playing the game.

Unrest in Player Community Following Latest League of Legends Update

In a surprising development, the latest update to the 'Away From Keyboard' (AFK) system in the gaming sensation League of Legends has sparked unrest within the player community. It wasn’t the substantial boost Riot Games provided to Tryndamere, nor the debut of the $200 Erasure Jhin Mythic Skin. Instead, it was a change to the AFK detection algorithm that has fans rattled.

League of Legends AFK Detection System

The AFK detection system in League of Legends is designed to assist players in recreating or sanctioning anyone who quits during the match. But it appears the recent feature enhancement may have unintentionally impaired it entirely for one specific group of players.

Unfortunate Consequences for Yuumi Players

The new modifications resulted in unexpected consequences for Yuumi players. While the League of Legends' AFK system works accurately for most, it tends to categorize Yuumi players as AFK. A player residing on a champion doesn't count as being 'in the game,' despite the fact that this is precisely how Yuumi users play a significant portion of the time. If Yuumi players attach to their allied champion at the start of the match, the game considers them AFK and initiates a 90-second countdown. After the timer expires, the game labels the Yuumi player as AFK, giving their team the option to recreate the game. If the team proceeds with this, the Yuumi player is marked as AFK and will lose LP as a consequence.
