Video Game Pastime Turns Sour for Famous Streamer
Renowned video game, Starfield, recently caused YouTube streamer Dr Disrespect to express his outrage during the game's precarious space combat. Consequently, Dr Disrespect took his frustrations out on his viewers, even closing the chat during an eventful live stream.
Bethesda's Starfield Launch
Elevating the gaming scene, Bethesda launched Starfield, a long-anticipated sci-fi RPG. The game has been in development for many years, culminating in early access that began on September 1, 2023, followed by an official full-fledged release.
Global Reaction to Starfield
Now globally accessible, the game has been met with an array of reactions in a brief time. These include eccentric game-specific scenarios like hidden 'Lord of the Rings' Easter Eggs and a surprise appearance by Thomas The Tank Engine. While many are enjoying the game, including revered God of War and Twisted Metal director, David Jaffe, the experience has not been smooth for all, as demonstrated by Dr Disrespect's gameplay encounters.
Dr Disrespect's Dilemma
At the heart of the game lies space combat where players customize their ships to explore the game's universe. However, Dr Disrespect struggled to master this mechanism resulting in repeated deaths during the space combat sequences.
As he continued to lose against enemy ships, the streamer revealed his growing tension on the live-stream. Blaming Starfield for what he called the 'absolute worst control scheme and control experience of a flight simulator,' he proceeded to criticize his viewers and ultimately, closed the chat. Dr Disrespect claimed that shutting down the chat room was a 'healthy' decision for him, despite the ongoing struggle with the game's space combat, which he considered to have 'too many buttons.'
Fan Loyalty Towards Dr Disrespect
Despite his strong reaction, it seems likely that the relationship between Dr Disrespect and his fans remains strong. His recent confrontations with Starfield follow an earlier incident where he was at the center of a controversy for not securing a sponsorship with Bethesda for Starfield.
