Starfield players have innovatively dealt with the issue of limited inventory space by impulsively throwing their extraneous items on the ground and transporting them across the game's expanse. As expected from a typical Bethesda RPG game like Starfield, players are exploiting imaginative ways to circumnavigate the restrictions imposed by the design of the game.
Players Becoming Virtual Hoarders
Despite the vast expanse of Starfield’s massive map that is yet to be explored, players are already thinking innovatively to solve the problems they encounter. They have noticed that the inventory space, which is an essential commodity, quickly dwindles even in the early stages of the game. Although there were some workarounds intended, players have chosen to drop all their junk on the ground and become virtual "hoarders".
Spaceship as a Storage Space
In Starfield, players get their spaceship during the initial hour of gameplay, which essentially becomes a crucial component of their adventures. Whether opting to stick with the starter spaceship or swiftly customizing their vessels, each player’s ship is equipped with some crucial amenities. One of these amenities is a storage chest, which, although handy, has limited space. Moreover, companions can also hold onto some spare items of the player but eventually run out of room as well.

Every item, ranging from potted plants, food products, to valuable miners and spacesuits was found dispersed across the floor, inciting a discussion among players who revealed that this strategy was not a unique one.

In fact, many even claimed to extend this hoarding habit to their houses in the game by opting for the perk that provides players with a house. Bragging about their hoarding skills and habits, one player stated, "Yeah that’s why I got the dream home trait- to hoard to my hearts content."
Others have admitted to hoarding specific items such as foam cups and potted plants, resorting to their ships to exhibit their collection – even if "exhibiting" is just them having their belongings randomly scattered across the deck of their ship.
