Call of Duty's 2025 release could feature Remastered Black Ops 2 Maps

Leaks suggest that the 2025 Call of Duty title might come with a completely remastered set of Black Ops 2 maps, similar to how 2023's Modern Warfare III has remastered versions of all MW2 maps.

Leaks Hint at Remastered Black Ops 2 Maps in 2025 Call of Duty

Leaks are pointing towards the potential of the 2025 Call of Duty installment featuring a full suite of Black Ops 2 maps, completely remastered. Similar handling was employed in the 2023 Modern Warfare III that included all the Modern Warfare 2 maps in a remastered state.

Earlier Remastered Map Success

Previously in 2023, Sledgehammer Games presented the Modern Warfare III, succeeding Infinity Ward's 2024 effort Modern Warfare II. The game not only brought major changes to the gameplay but also featured every single one of the 16 MW2 (2009) maps, remastered and adapted to the current generation.

Seeing as the gameplay changes and inclusion of remastered maps in Modern Warfare III were well-received by the Call of Duty player base, it now appears that the concept could be repeated. New leaks suggest that a similar plan might be adopted for the upcoming Treyarch title in 2024.

Leaked Information

According to reliable leaker, El Bobberto, also known as BobNetwork, this plan could potentially be executed for Call of Duty's 2025 release. Following El Bobberto's reputation for accurate leaks, many fans have begun speculating about the upcoming release. However, he also cautioned that this projection could very well change in the following two years until the game's release, and it could largely depend on the success of MW3 and the reception of its remastered maps.

The Original Black Ops 2

Black Ops 2 originally launched with 14 maps, namely Aftermath, Cargo, Carrier, Drone, Express, Hijacked, Meltdown, Overflow, Plaza, Raid, Slums, Standoff, Turbine, and Yemen. If the leaks are to be believed and turns out to be true, players could be seeing these old favorites in a new, remastered light.

Looking Ahead

However, it's important to note that the game won't be launching until around November 2025. With two more Call of Duty titles expected to release until then and numerous decisions to be made, it's truly unpredictable what the actual look of the game will be, or even which game developers would be working on it if the rumored plan goes ahead.
